Thoughtful Living, Seamlessly Designed - Silvana & Sunhouse Collaboration

Helsinki, 2024-

Silvana is proud to collaborate with Sunhouse, a Finnish, architect-driven wooden house package manufacturer known for its timeless approach to building better living — cost-effectively and with genuine care for the customer. Sunhouse focuses primarily on holiday homes and contemporary wooden houses that blend harmoniously with nature, combining craftsmanship with a strong architectural identity.

Just like Sunhouse, we at Silvana believe that good design should be personal, functional, and attainable. Our shared vision is to create thoughtfully designed living environments that reflect each customer’s lifestyle without compromising quality or affordability.

Interior design is an essential part of the overall architectural concept. It refines the character of the building, enhances architectural features, and creates the desired atmosphere and sense of home. To support this holistic approach, Silvana has developed a series of ready-made interior design concepts specifically for Sunhouse homes. These concepts are carefully aligned with Sunhouse architecture and include harmoniously coordinated materials, finishes, and products.

The interior design concepts are available as an optional part of Sunhouse’s prefabricated house packages, allowing customers to include professional interior design seamlessly as part of their home order. Interior design is carried out as a continuation of the architectural sketch design phase before technical planning begins and ensuring a coherent, logical process, avoiding conflicting decisions later on. This approach leads to a more controlled, consistent, and high-quality end result.

How the Process Works

Together with Sunhouse, customers can define the scope and price range of interior design services at an early stage. Once an interior design package is selected, Sunhouse contacts Silvana and the interior design process begins. Silvana then reaches out to the client directly to arrange a meeting.

Before any design work starts, Silvana always interviews the client — a meaningful step that ensures the final result truly supports the client’s way of living. We take the time to understand everyday needs and habits: Do you enjoy cooking? Do you have a dog? How do you spend your weekends? These insights allow us to adapt the chosen concept to real life, making each home feel personal.

To keep costs moderate, transparent, and predictable, the amount of fully bespoke design work has been intentionally limited. Even so, clients receive a high-quality, architect-designed home and a tailored interior design plan that feels complete and carefully considered. This structured approach also reduces the need for late-stage changes, helping the project move forward smoothly. Products selected for the concepts are reliable, high-quality, and aligned with Sunhouse’s values. For the client, this means ease of decision-making and cost savings without sacrificing design quality or the overall scope of the interior design. Because each project is built on a clear, pre-defined interior concept, the process remains efficient, transparent, and cost-effective. Technical planning, including electrical and lighting design, benefits greatly from this clarity, as all parties work from a familiar, well-structured framework that is already proven on site.

For those who wish to go further, additional customization is available as extra services. This may include more detailed tailoring, bespoke furniture design, or individually designed solutions created in close collaboration with an interior architect.

The end result is a cohesive, well-executed home that looks and feels right — without unnecessary complexity, delays, or surprises. Together, Sunhouse and Silvana make it easier than ever to build a home that is both timeless and truly personal.
